Clinton Community College Foundation

Since 1971, The Clinton Community College Foundation, Inc. (CCCF) has made it its mission to raise funds to transform lives and provide educational opportunities to students at Clinton Community College (CCC). The funds raised are used to provide scholarships and financial assistance to CCC students.

Business Challenge

A few years ago, the Foundation made the decision to switch solutions from Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge to CAMS® in order to integrate with the school’s new CRM system. For CCCF, the switch proved to be a nightmare. Staff encountered problems importing alumni records, running queries, pulling reports, and gathering accurate data. It was quickly discovered that CAMS was not able to provide them with functionality that The Raiser’s Edge provided seamlessly.

Reason for Partnership

The CCCF team chose to make the switch back to Blackbaud in 2012. The Foundation felt that Blackbaud offered a lifelong partnership centered on the success of its organization, and that the intuitiveness of The Raiser’s Edge better equipped it for efficiency and accuracy.

Capabilities Gained

Since moving back to The Raiser’s Edge, CCCF has leveraged Blackbaud’s AddressFinder™ and EmalFinder™ services in The Raiser’s Edge to help grow its alumni records from 300 to more than 7,000, which is 70% of their total school alumni.

The organization was able to use the Consecutive Giving report in The Raiser’s Edge to identify a local business owner who regularly gave to the school since 1976. This discovery led to Steven reaching out to the donor, resulting in an additional $2 million unrestricted gift to CCCF’s capital building campaign.

Mission Impact

The Raiser’s Edge runs circles around other CRM systems,” Steven said. Its seamless functionality has allowed CCCF to connect with more alumni, in more strategic ways. As staff begins working towards its $7.5 million Clearly Clinton Campaign that will span the next five years, the Foundation is confident that the partnership and resources provided by Blackbaud will fuel its success.
